Basil Brush (known as Squirrel around the barn) has had success in eventing up to 2 star level. Squirrel placed 5th at the Bromont International CCI* in Canada in June of 2008 and moved up to the intermediate level placing in the top 10 at the prestigous Stuart Horse Trials CIC** jumping a super clear round that wowed the crowd in what was not only his first CIC** but his first intermediate.
After a fantastic year with Kadi in 2008, Basil Brush spent the winter of 2009 in Aiken doing some showjumping and establishing his dressage. Some of Basil Brush's successes against the showjumping horses including being Champion Jumper level 4 at an A rated show at Jersey Horse Park and also Champion Jumper at Duncraven Horse Show more recently in April of 2009.
Squirrel's progress has continued having placed 5th at Bromont CCI**. Being first on course for the CCI** he was the second fastest horse cross country in what later proved to be tough track. Showing what a naturally fit horse he is he pulled up beautifully after cross country and showjumped a wonderful careful clear round on the last day.
Squirrel is a great eventer with wins and placings up to intermediate and 2 Star. Squirrel is also a super jumping horse and turns heads where ever he goes. With his style and carefulness he may be best suited to show jumping. Time will tell....
Most recently Squirrel won the intermediate at Pine Top in Feb 2011.
