The last few events have been a blast…. travelling up to Millbrook NY (just north of New York city for readers in Australia) for both the Firtch's Corner Horse Trials and Millbrook Horse Trials. Really beautiful rolling hills covered with cornfields, old magnificent estates and their barns, just spectacular this time of the year.

Both the Fitches Corner and Millbrook event go to great lengths to accomodate all levels of interest. There are fabulous evening functions , classic car displays, wonderful trade fairs and SUPER prizes!!!
We did very well on Noble, owned by Beth Durden, to win the Open Preliminary at Fitch's Corner. Being the highest level at the event the sponsors, Hermes and Tiffany’s had a lot of goodies for us.  See the photo on the welcome page with Noble wearing his Hermes rug , silver Tiffany’s tray and cup…
We travelled back up to Millbrook again 2 weeks later for the Millbrook event where Squirrel had an intermediate start.  I had entered the advanced but found out a day before he was not qualified with only 3 Intermediate starts . Even though one of the runs was Bromont CCI** he needs another Intermediate start for US qualifications to go Advanced. Still he came 2nd finishing on his dressage score, the only other competitor to do this was Karen O’Connor in the other Intermediate division.   Without an Advanced run here my plans to do Poplar place CIC*** will not come together. I think we’ll now go to Plantation CIC** and then an Advanced start in early October. Then I’ll be back in Australia for my brother’s wedding on the weekend of Fair Hill, and when I get back the events will be pretty much finished till the winter. Jumper shows?
It’s time to start planning Aiken again, anyone who wants to do some eventing in Aiken this winter please contact me anytime.  We had a lot of success last season with both horses sent with me to be competed and sold and also with horses sent down to continue their training.  Training rates are competitive and am happy to try and tailor a program that meets your needs and your budget.
Bye for now , Kadi
