News

Well its been a while since I last posted.  We have been busy preparing for the Bromont CCI in Quebec Canada (held on the site of the 1976 Olympics equestrian competition) starting next week so thought I would write a quick update on the goings on before we leave.  Heffe (DR 2 Cool) is heading up to do the CCI ** and Squirrel (DR Basil Brush) will be doing the CCI *.  Both had there last start last weekend at Waredaca Horse Trials.

We were happy with both of them as they both showjumped clean and both went great x-country but unfortunately on Squirrel I rode past the 3rd last fence!  Luckily Squirel had already qualified so this was not a big deal as the focus was on using the event as a schooling run more than anything ahead of Bromont.

Waredaca Horse Trials ended up being a fun event as it was an opportunity to catch up with some other Aussie event riders.  We stayed with Kate Chadderton who is based in Maryland and also was able to catch up with another friend from home, Simone Kann, who has recently moved over to compete on the US eventing scene with 2 lovely horses.  Simone has spent the last week after the event staying with me and Mark and it has been great to bounce some ideas off of each and have Simone's expert eye on the ground ahead of Bromont.

Lastly. we would also like to congratulate Emma Armstrong who has purchased one of Izzy's foals by Staccato.  We could not be more happy seeing one of these lovely foals going to a professional rider like Emma.  It is also a testament to the quality of the foals that Izzy has been producing.  I am sure this combination will be a force to be reckoned with in the future.

Bye for now
